Many aluminum items come with a clear coating designed to protect it. Take apart the aluminum item if possible piece by piece. Suitable for cleaning exterior metal plastic and vinyl surfaces including gutters window and door frames siding or lanai frames. Common surfaces with oxidation include aluminum siding vinyl siding and metal roofing.

If this is the case remove it using a rag and some paint remover. Rain carries them down the sides of the gutters where they stain the aluminum.
