Best done on a dry day it can be done by the homeowner if they are confident in accessing the roof or alternatively get a professional in.
Removing moss from a felt roof.
If the water will not reach the peak of the roof from the ground you can spray while standing on a ladder.
Make a strong solution by dissolving it in a watering can then pour it over the roof.
Take hold of the soft bristle brush and scrub away any remaining moss.
Hose off and brush all moss loose from your roof shingles.
A simple and cost effective way of removing moss is to manually scrape the moss from your roof using a stiff long handled brush and a trowel.
Scrub softly and don t apply too much pressure.
Put water over the roof and moss and then put bleach onto the moss this will turn the moss brown in minutes.
If the roof has no chippings then brush the surface to remove the growth and any debris such as leaves and twigs.
Carefully place a ladder near the area of moss growth and don slip resistant shoes old clothes rubber gloves and eye.
After a few minutes hose the area down with water and check.
First knock away any large lumps of moss with a brush or broom.
Get a stiff bristle scrub brush and attach it to the end of a pole if you don t have a random pole hanging around a broom will work as well.
Take care not to let it go on other plants it will kill them as well.
Point the hose towards the top of the roof and rinse off the moss killing solution along with the dead moss.
Mix the bleach with the water in a large bucket.
Rinse the roof again with the hose to remove any remaining loose moss sitting on the roof.
There are a couple of methods of removing moss.
As you wet down the moss infected area of the roof use a soft bristle brush to gently scrub moss away.

Liquid moss killers cover the roof more evenly than dry powders and they let you stay on the ground for the application.
Work on one small section at a time which allows you better control of the brush and your scrubbing motions.
